Day 1: Route 62 & Cango Caves

Travel via the town of Montagu on the Route 62 to Oudtshoorn. Visit Barrydale and Calitzdorp where the true diversity of landscape is highlighted through the ever–changing semi-desert areas. On the way to your guest house visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. (BB Oudtshoorn) approx. 520 km

Day 2: Oudtshoorn – Ostrich Farm – Garden Route

Oudtshoorn is known as the “Feather Capital of the World”, thanks to its huge ostrich industry. Visit an ostrich farm where you can take part on a fascinating guided tour (own account). Drive via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to George and continue on to Knysna. You have the opportunity to take part on a boat cruise to visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve (own account). Day 3: Garden Route

Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coast's best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon. Discover the joys of the town’s many art galleries, craft shops and coffee bars. Drive to Knysna Station where you can board the nostalgic steam train the “Outiniqua Choo-Tjoe” to George (own account). A return transfer can be arranged. In the afternoon you can enjoy a sunset cruise on the Knysna lagoon (own account). (BB Knysna)

Day 4: Return

After breakfast travel via Mossel Bay and Swellendam back to Cape Town or drive via the Tsitsikama Forrest to Port Elizabeth. Approx. 490 km to Cape Town or 282 km to PE.
