Whale Tour

Whale watching is seasonal (best times: September to beginning of December). But this tour offers many more attractions other than the whales. Drive on the scenic coastal road along "False Bay" through Gordon’s Bay, Rooiels, Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond to Hermanus. A visit to the Harold Porter Botanical Garden will give some insight into the Cape’s typical and unique fynbos vegetation. Hermanus offers during the whale season some of the world’s best land based opportunities to watch whales. On the journey back one will pass through the fruit regions of Elgin and Grabouw, and should be able to see Cape Town in 40km distance on a clear day from Sir Lowry’s Pass.
